I know what it means, but I'm hoping I don't.
"So what does this mean? It kind of looks like a plus? But it's really faded, I'm not sure."
Liz doesn't even look at the stick. She just looks at me standing in the bathroom doorway, my face fighting between a grin and a grimace. "You're pregnant."
I take a deep breath. My face is trying to say I want this, like I've been saying for months, but now that it's real, I'm not entirely sure anymore. "I... I'm just going to pretend this hasn't happened for a little while." I put the stick on the counter and scurry into the play room to pick sticky tack off the walls. The room is completely empty now

Life as Queen of the Universe
Yay. Queen of the Universe. Exciting? Divine? Desirable? Yeah right. Nothing pleases me; why do you think I make you so miserable?
Look, it's tough being such a macho chick. There's no decent guys out there! I mean, not even ONE that could out-armwrestle me. The sexual frustration is abominable. I'm PMSing 24/7, so I have to get my rage out somehow.
This is how it works; I look down on everything in my miniature model of everything. I play you all like a game of The Sims. Once in a while I'll get some witch putting in suggestive thoughts and a few God-lovers asking for things, and I usually keep everything in astrological order, but other t

Diagnosed Crazy
Just yesterday he had told me that the world was slowly crumbling into an empty, heartless abyss and there was nothing he could do about it. The account of this supposed apocalypse was so fluent and elaborate that I experienced a shiver down my spine when it occurred to me that I was beginning to believe him.
It was Wednesday. We sat down for our weekly six o'clock session. He sat in the chair across from me, back straight, hands crossed in his lap. He gave me his same squirrely smile and stared at me with his rich black eyes. I read eyes, but these ones seemed unreadable. They weren't empty -- no, quite the contrary. They were thick, so ful

Three Journal Entries
6:00 AM Thurs, May 19, 2011
Dear Journal,
It's been a while since I last wrote. I decided to start writing again because Alex wants to incorporate "Journaling Workshops" into the curriculum for the Veteran's Writing Group I'm helping him with this summer. And I owe him one, since I was only able to teach writing workshops at Boys Town because we carpooled together.
But in order to prepare myself for this, I spent 2 days reading old entries, reliving college moments and old flames. I was talking to Justin earlier this morning (and we really don't talk much) and I forgot what we had, and how we lost it. So I refreshed myself on that. And it'

Equestria Centennial Census Tour: Ponyville Log
Day 1: Landing in Ponyville
I landed just on the outskirts of town, in order to avoid causing alarm. Townsponies of small hamlets such as this one are often overexcited by visits from royalty, and rarely does this ever suit my purposes. Though Celestia had told me an alicorn did now reside here, one by the name of Twilight Sparkle, keeper of the Elements of Harmony and recently ascended, I still did not expect the townsponies to be any more comfortable with the presence of an alicorn, especially a strange one who had not touched down in their town for a couple generations.
I tucked my wings under my saddlebags before moving into the villag

Sabaton on Tour -- EXCLUSIVE
The crowd at Firestone Live was evenly divided between bright-eyed twenty-somethings and middle-aged, veteran metal heads. This was just what I expected from a show where the headlining band has been around since the '70s, and the biggest opening band could attribute much of its rising fame to YouTube fan videos.
Orlando, Florida was the first stop for the Sabaton/ACCEPT U.S. tour. For the German band ACCEPT, this was just business as usual. But for Sabaton, April 9th, 2011 was a landmark, as it was their first stop in their first-ever U.S. tour.
"Everyone here is so polite," Joakim Brodén, lead vocalist, remarks. "In places we have to
